Question:

What happens if you leave Canada to look for a job in another country and prior to leaving file for bankruptcy. Are you allowed to file for bankruptcy while not employed? How are the bankruptcy charges calculated? Thanks

Answer:

You should actually file before you leave the country - it doesn't matter if you are employed or not. A Trustee would want to be paid in full prior to you leaving but you would still be required to report income etc. from your new address.
